Our flowers
Delicate, with intense or pastel colours, full of subtle fragrances, the flowers are intimately linked to our territory: the Mazamétan Camellia, the essences brought back from the garden centres or events linked to plants are good proof of this.
Pleasure of essences
In Mazamet, flowers are queens for our greatest pleasure: Brought back from the old shopping trips of the great Mazametan industrial period, many species from the end of the world are omnipresent present in the city.
"Forever Camellias"
If you wander around Mazamet in winter and early spring, you can admire the many magnolias, tulips, wisteria… above all camellias which give the town a certain charm. In particular, you can see some of them when you see the gardens of some beautiful residences on the “Au fil de la laine” walk.
A little piece of Mazamet to plant
Alain and Françoise produce 300 varieties of camellias, but also rhododendrons, azaleas, Japanese maples, kalmias, hydrangeas, horns, daphnes … Family passion since 1860, initially in Nantes, camellia has been cultivated in our nurseries in Mazamet since 1984; it benefits from a favorable micro-climate, Atlantic with Mediterranean influence. Among other things, they created the “Camellia japonica Ville de Mazamet”, which remains a collector’s plant to this day.
Growing your garden
“You have to cultivate your garden” … An idea dear to Voltaire that can be followed during the Flower Days in Castres or the Floriales in Mazamet where you will be able to buy shrubs, plants or flowers and glean some precious advice on growing & maintaining.
